Eric Bauza, Voice of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, Dies at 46
Bauza, who took over the Looney Tunes roles in 2018, died Oct. 25 of natural causes; colleagues credit him with reviving the characters.
Eric Bauza, the voice actor behind Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig, died suddenly on Oct. 25 of natural causes at age 46, according to hollywoodreporter.com.
Bauza became the principal voice of the Looney Tunes roster for a new generation, and animation colleagues remembered him as the performer who carried those characters forward. Alex Kirwan, producer of Cartoon Network's Looney Tunes Cartoons, said Bauza was cast as Bugs Bunny in 2018 after auditioning against roughly 50 other performers.
His connection to the characters extended beyond the recording booth. At the 2024 Annie Awards, Bauza voiced Daffy Duck while pleading with Warner Bros. to release Coyote vs. Acme.
He was working with Warner Bros. Pictures Animation producer Susan Rogers on the upcoming animated short Daffy Season at the time of his death.
