Lost 1993 Escape From Jurassic Park Pitch Trailer Resurfaces Online
The trailer for the scrapped animated spin-off uses John Williams' Jurassic Park theme and shows Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler and dinosaurs.
A pitch trailer for Escape From Jurassic Park, a cancelled 1993 animated spin-off, has been unearthed and shared online. Chris Pugh posted the trailer on X on November 6, 2026, according to screenrant.com.
The trailer is set to John Williams' Jurassic Park theme and shows Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler and dinosaurs. It was made as a pitch for an animated series rather than for broadcast.
Escape From Jurassic Park was planned as a direct follow-up to Steven Spielberg's 1993 Jurassic Park film, with the original core cast involved. The story outline was developed at Universal Cartoon Studios, the now-defunct animation arm of Universal.
From 23-episode plan to cancellation
According to a 2016 Jurassic Outpost report, Universal Cartoon Studios planned the show as a 23-episode arc that would end in a press conference where John Hammond declares the park open. The series was scrapped in 1994 before reaching television.
Animation later returned to the franchise on Netflix. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous ran for five seasons, followed by Jurassic World: Chaos Theory, which ran for four seasons.
