Modiphius Entertainment is developing a second edition of its Fallout: Wasteland Warfare miniatures game, and this time the design is built around solo play. The new edition adopts a solo-first philosophy, aiming to make the tabletop experience work just as well for a single player as it does for a group.
To keep each session fresh, the game uses procedural encounters and modular terrain. Combat and exploration remain core parts of play, but non-combat encounters are also in the mix — including meeting friendly NPCs and buying rare items. Named characters are planned to receive their own side quests.
The tabletop update arrives alongside a busy stretch for the wider franchise. Season 3 of the Fallout TV series is coming to Prime Video next year, Bethesda has officially started development on Fallout 5, and remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are in the works.
