Fandango Distribution Takes Worldwide Rights to 'Rescue'

Fandango Distribution has acquired all rights, including theatrical release, to Sine Plambech's documentary Rescue, with Autlook Filmsales negotiating the deals and handling worldwide sales.
Radio Télévision Suisse has joined as a broadcaster, alongside pre-sale partners DR, VPRO, SVT and NRK.
The film had its European premiere in the Now/Future section of the 22nd Zurich Film Festival, where Plambech serves as president of the documentary competition jury. Its world premiere was at TIFF.
Rescue follows Roro, a Yemeni mother separated from her husband after a Mediterranean rescue operation and held in captivity in Libya. It was shot aboard Doctors Without Borders' Geo Barents.
Written by Plambech and Janus Metz, the film is produced by Elk Film's Andreas Dalsgaard, Sofie Husum Johannesen and Tereza Šimíková. Troels N'koya Jensen is the cinematographer, with editing by Per K. Kirkegaard and Marion Tuor and music by Uno Helmersson.
Running 80 minutes, Rescue is in Arabic, English and French with English subtitles. The Zurich festival's Now/Future section this year features nine films exploring human rights, social conflict and sustainable development.
