Flanagan: Warhammer 40,000 Series Has an Unexpected Way In
The filmmaker says the Prime Video adaptation found a surprising entry point into the lore, but he is keeping the details under wraps.
Mike Flanagan said the Warhammer 40,000 series in development for Prime Video has found a "very cool and unexpected" way into the material. The filmmaker discussed the project in an interview with Deadline.
Flanagan declined to share specifics, saying he is sworn to secrecy on the adaptation. He added that Henry Cavill, the series' lead star and executive producer, would be furious if he revealed anything about what they are working on.
According to Flanagan, the central difficulty is scale: the lore is so large that the hard part is finding a way in. He cited roughly 700 novels, before counting the tabletop game and other lore.
Cast and production details for the Prime Video series remain under wraps.
