The Folio Society has announced a collectible definitive edition of Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly, according to comingsoon.net.

The edition includes 12 rare photos of Bourdain taken by Jake Chessum during a two-day shoot in New York in 2008. It also features a specially commissioned illustration of Bourdain by Paul Pope and a preface by Joel Rose.

The book is presented in a cookbook-style format with gilded edges and blocked cloth binding. It will be available for $130 from 8 a.m. PT on October 13, 2026, exclusively on the Folio Society's website.

An Earlier Life for the Book and Its Author

Kitchen Confidential was originally published in 2000 and helped launch Bourdain into mainstream popularity. It was adapted into a TV show starring Bradley Cooper in 2005. Bourdain graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 1978 and later hosted shows including A Cook's Tour, Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations and The Layover. He died in 2018.

A24's biographical film Tony, starring Dominic Sessa as a 19-year-old Bourdain, was released two months before this new edition announcement. Bourdain's graphic novel Get Jiro! was adapted into an animated series by Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios.
