Geoffrey Rush has revealed he would be open to reprising his role as Captain Hector Barbossa in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, provided the writing meets his standards. In a recent interview, Rush said he would return if the script is not too cheesy.
The actor even pitched a supernatural angle for Barbossa's comeback, comparing it to the ghost of Hamlet's father. He also suggested that fans should write the sixth film based on what they want to see.
Rush has previously said that Johnny Depp is irreplaceable in the franchise. However, Disney dropped Depp from the sixth movie following his trial against Amber Heard. Depp has stated he would never work with Disney again, even for $300 million and a million alpacas.
