Goldfinch International expands into Bangladesh and Indonesia

The film financier has formed a joint venture with Jakarta's Rangkai and joined a consortium exploring a proposed Bangladesh Super League.

Goldfinch International is expanding into Bangladesh and Indonesia, the company announced on October 28, 2026, through a joint venture partnership with Jakarta-based creative company Rangkai and a consortium backing a proposed Bangladeshi soccer league.

The Rangkai venture will cover community building, distribution, global sales, production and advisory work. Redemptus Rangga Raditya is CEO of Rangkai, which has spent five years building ties with Indonesian filmmakers, government and audiences.

The Bangladesh arm is the Bangladesh Strategic Partnership consortium, created by 1CS Holdings Limited, Goldfinch International, Fablemill and Germany's Akani Group. Nazir Alam heads 1CS Holdings and serves as executive chairman of the consortium, while Eman Alsabah leads Fablemill. Earlier in October 2026, the consortium and the Bangladesh Football Federation signed an MoU to explore building the proposed Bangladesh Super League, which would combine existing clubs with regional franchises.

The consortium plans to approach British and European clubs, family offices, specialist investors and members of the Bangladeshi diaspora. It has also opened talks with the Bangladesh Olympic Association, the ICT Division, Startup Bangladesh and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Goldfinch said it is in talks with partners in several more Global South territories. Phil McKenzie is co-founder and COO of Goldfinch.

Earlier partnerships

In May 2026, Goldfinch signed an MoU with Rangkai and the Jakarta Film Commission at the Cannes Film Festival, and at Cannes that year it launched a strategic tie-up with Fablemill, a Gulf-based creative industries advisory. A production debt fund for emerging markets launched in 2025 and is set to start deploying capital in early 2027.
