Han Jun-hee discussed his creative approach and his two series premiering at the Busan International Film Festival during a masterclass at Netflix's Creative Asia day, according to Deadline. Both The Blue Road and Dead-End Job are screening in the festival's On Screen section.
Han wrote and directed The Blue Road, which is based on a manhwa about two detectives from Korea and Japan who form an alliance to track down a serial killer. He created Dead-End Job.
Earlier credits
Han's breakout hit was D.P. (2021), a series about Korean military police catching deserters. In 2022 he served as creative director on Weak Hero Class, which dealt with bullying and high school violence and starred Park Ji-hoon, Choi Hyun-wook and Hong Kyung.
Park Ji-hoon also starred in The King's Warden, released earlier this year, which has become the highest-grossing Korean film of all time. In 2024, Kim Han-gyul directed the feature Pilot, an adaptation of the 2012 Swedish film Cockpit.
