Hannibal Is Leaving Peacock in the US
The Ridley Scott horror sequel, which grossed more than $350 million worldwide, is streaming on Peacock now but will exit the service soon.
Hannibal is set to leave Peacock in the United States, according to Collider. The film is still available on the streaming service, but its time there is ending soon.
Ridley Scott directed the film, which stars Ray Liotta and Gary Oldman among its cast. No departure date has been given.
The film was released theatrically a few months after Scott's Gladiator won Best Picture at the Oscars. In its opening weekend, the horror sequel broke numerous box-office records, and it eventually grossed more than $350 million worldwide against a reported budget of almost $90 million. It fell short of Gladiator's box-office haul but surpassed that of its predecessor.
Reviews for Hannibal were mediocre, and it holds a 39% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Scott had been working on Gladiator when a producer pitched him Hannibal, and he signed on immediately. The Oscar-winning star of the original Hannibal signed on to return, while one key member of the original cast refused and her role was recast.
