HBO Shoots One Day of Big Little Lies Season 3 to Keep Tax Credit
Merrin Dungey filmed scenes at Warner Bros. Studios Burbank's The Ranch Lot, with the main cast not involved in the day's work.
HBO shot one day of production on Big Little Lies season three featuring Merrin Dungey, according to Deadline. Dungey, who plays Detective Adrienne Quinlan, filmed her scenes at Warner Bros. Studios Burbank's The Ranch Lot.
The shoot was carried out to keep the show's California tax credit, and the main stars were not involved in the day's work. HBO is closing in on aligning the main cast's schedules ahead of full production starting next year.
The series has been off the air since its second season premiered in 2019; the first season debuted in 2017. A third season was confirmed last year.
In September, HBO chief Casey Bloys told Deadline there were many schedules to line up for the show. Earlier this year, Liane Moriarty, author of the novel behind the series, published Big Little Truths, thought to be the basis for season three and set ten years after the first two seasons.
David E. Kelley created the series, with Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon and Laura Dern among its stars. Shailene Woodley told Deadline earlier this year that it was a "blast" to play Jane Chapman and that she was excited about the third season.
