HBO has renewed the comedy series Youth for a second season, with Sharon Horgan returning as the lead, according to Deadline. The renewal was announced less than 24 hours after the season one finale.
Horgan stars as Alex, a literary agent. She created and wrote the series and executive produces it through Merman, the production company behind the show.
Faye Dorn, Jim Kleverweis and Dawn Shadforth also serve as executive producers, with Shadforth directing. Amy Gravitt, EVP of HBO Programming and Head of HBO & HBO Max Comedy Series, said the ensemble would return for another season.
The first season ran to eight episodes and closed on an open-ended finale in which Alex ends things with Patrick after finding a list of pros and cons.
Youth arrives seven years after Horgan's previous HBO show, Divorce, ended after three seasons. She co-created Catastrophe and is also behind Apple's Bad Sisters, Starz's Shining Vale and the BBC's Motherland.
