Higher Ground and Anonymous Content are teaming up to produce a feature film adaptation of Nicholas Boggs' biography Baldwin: A Love Story, the companies announced Thursday.

Anonymous Content has optioned the book and secured a deal for Boggs and novelist Marlon James to adapt it for the screen. Darren Walker, president and CEO of Anonymous Content, revealed the project at the Bloomberg Screentime conference.

Higher Ground is the media company founded by Barack and Michelle Obama. The former president recently featured James Baldwin's The Fire Next Time on his podcast A Great Book with Barack Obama.

Anonymous Content's credits include Nickel Boys, True Detective, and Spotlight. Its upcoming projects include Alex Gibney's documentary Musk, Zoe Kazan's East of Eden, and The Statement. The company recently hired Walker, former president of the Ford Foundation, as its president and CEO.
