Griffin and Entertainment 360 Launch HITpoint for Game Adaptations
HITpoint Entertainment will pair game properties with filmmakers and studio partners, drawing on Griffin's $100 million indie fund.
Griffin Gaming Partners and Entertainment 360 have launched HITpoint Entertainment, a new company focused on supporting video game adaptations for film and television, gamesindustry.biz reported.
HITpoint aims to pair game properties with filmmakers, talent and studio partners, and intends to keep game creators involved from development through production.
The company will target major franchises as well as independent games. For the latter, it will draw on Griffin's $100 million indie fund, which is led by Hooded Horse CEO Tim Bender.
Griffin was co-founded by Peter Levin and Nick Tuosto, both managing directors at the firm. Levin was a key investor in Amazon's Fallout television series, while Entertainment 360's clients are currently involved in the live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda.
Indie fund already active
According to Tuosto, Griffin's Special Opportunities Fund has invested in fifteen indie titles and six unannounced projects.
