Producer says AI voice tests used on new Hunger Games film

Nina Jacobson said AI-generated voice approximations were used only to test ADR line readings, with the real cast recording the final lines.

Producer Nina Jacobson said her team used AI-generated approximations of actors' voices to test ADR line readings during post-production on The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, according to IndieWire. The lines were subsequently recorded with the actual cast through traditional ADR.

Jacobson said AI was never used to replace any artists or anything seen onscreen in the film. She added that post-production on Sunrise on the Reaping was recently completed.

Jacobson made the comments in conversation with IndieWire editor-in-chief Brent Lang at IndieWire's Future of Filmmaking Summit in Los Angeles.
