Inde Navarrette showed off her Rogue Southern accent in a red-carpet interview at the Toronto International Film Festival, according to comingsoon.net. The actress demonstrated the voice with the word "Sugar."
Navarrette said the accent is the one she will use in Marvel Studios' upcoming X-Men film. She was on the festival circuit with her indie horror film Obsession.
Kevin Feige revealed the Rogue casting on August 14 at Disney's D23 convention in Anaheim, California. Reports say Navarrette beat out several established actors for the role.

The cast includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Maya Boyd as Storm, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Asa Germann as Angel and Adam Driver as Nathaniel Milbury, aka Mister Sinister. Unconfirmed rumors place Beast and Iceman in the cast.
