Nyla Innuksuk's supernatural thriller In the Heart of the South screened at the Vancouver Film Festival on a Sunday, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The film is Innuksuk's second feature and was co-written with Ryan Cavan. It stars Anna Lambe as Inuk artist Yura Ivalu and Zorga Qaunaq as her estranged childhood friend Sesi.

Innuksuk's first feature was Slash/Back, which she also co-wrote with Cavan, as reported by the Hollywood Reporter.

In 2001, Zacharias Kunuk's Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner, written, directed and acted entirely in the Inuktitut language, won the Cannes Camera d'Or.
