Report: Amazon MGM Tests Four Finalists for James Bond Role
Jack Lowden, Josh O'Connor and Callum Turner are among the reported contenders being test-screened for the next 007 film.
Amazon MGM Studios is reportedly test-screening four final contenders for the next James Bond, with Jack Lowden, Josh O'Connor and Callum Turner among the names under consideration alongside an unnamed actor, according to Screen Rant.
The next 007 film will be directed by Denis Villeneuve and written by Steven Knight. No official announcement of the next Bond actor has been made.
Gary Oldman, Lowden's co-star on Slow Horses, said he believes Lowden has already been chosen, though the decision has not been announced. Lowden plays River Cartwright in the series.
Slow Horses premiered in 2022 and has run for six seasons, holding a 98% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes. Lowden has appeared in 36 episodes of the show and also featured in Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk.
The series' sixth season ended with a finale that may reduce River's role in the show. Daniel Craig's final Bond film, No Time to Die, was released over five years before this report.
