James Gunn said The Detachable Kid could come back in a future DCU project, but that the role would probably not go to Nathan Fillion again. Gunn, DC Studios CEO and director of The Suicide Squad, made the comments during an episode of a podcast on Spotify, according to comingsoon.net.
Gunn explained that Fillion is now known for playing Guy Gardner, which makes a return as TDK unlikely for the actor. Fillion played The Detachable Kid in The Suicide Squad and is cast as Guy Gardner in the DCU.
Gunn also said he deliberately chose not to kill TDK at the end of The Suicide Squad so that the character could be brought back later.
