James Gunn is already writing his next film while he waits for the edit of his Superman sequel, he said, according to Deadline. The follow-up to 2025's Superman is titled Man of Tomorrow.

Man of Tomorrow wrapped production in August and is set to premiere in theaters on July 9, 2027. Gunn's next project would come after that release.

Gunn runs DC Studios with Peter Safran. The pair were invited by David Ellison to continue working at the company, now renamed Skydance, according to the report.

Under the new structure, the Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery film units will report to Paramount Pictures co-chairs Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein.

DC Studios has released Superman and Supergirl. Clayface is set to premiere on October 23, and The Batman: Part II is in production, scheduled for a February 18, 2028 premiere.
