James Gunn Says He Wrote Peacemaker Role for Dave Bautista

Gunn revealed that Bautista was offered Army of the Dead and another spy film at the same time, and the production could only pay him about one third of his other earnings.

James Gunn originally wrote the Peacemaker role for Dave Bautista, the writer/director said, according to comingsoon.net. The role eventually went to John Cena.

Gunn said Bautista was offered Army of the Dead and another spy film at the same time. He added that the production could only pay Bautista about one third of what he would have earned elsewhere.

Bautista has not yet taken a role in the DCU. He previously played Drax the Destroyer in 2014's Guardians of the Galaxy, and Gunn directed him in all three Guardians of the Galaxy films and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special.
