Jane Turton, the former CEO of All3Media, has spoken about her new role as Deputy CEO of Banijay Entertainment in an interview. Her comments follow the merger between Banijay Entertainment and All3Media, which closed on July 9. The combined company was created with annual pro forma revenues of €7.4B ($8.5B). Marco Bassetti was named CEO of the combined entity, with Turton as Deputy CEO.
According to Deadline, Turton discussed taking on the deputy role. She spent 11 years as CEO of All3Media before the merger. Turton was also widely mentioned as a leading candidate for the Director General job at the BBC.
The combined company will be unveiled at a drinks event on the eve of MIPCOM. At MIPCOM, Banijay Rights will bring content from the former All3Media International catalog, led by Cathy Payne. Banijay Rights now has a catalog of more than 265,000 hours. In comparison, ITV Studios has around 100,000 hours and BBC Studios has around 45,000 hours in their catalogs, according to previously reported figures.
Around €50 million ($57 million) in cost savings are planned. All3Media international sales chief Louise Pedersen exited in July, and All3Media group COO Sara Geater exited after the merger. In July, Deadline revealed that Rachel Job was in line for an EVP of Content job at Banijay Rights, which was confirmed later in the week. Banijay leadership teams have been set in the U.K., the U.S., and Germany. The combined business owns more than 170 production companies.
