Jim Taylor Signs With Paradigm for Representation
The Oscar-winning screenwriter is repped by Paradigm as he and Alexander Payne adapt the Election sequel Tracy Flick Can't Win for Paramount.
Screenwriter Jim Taylor has signed with Paradigm for representation, according to Deadline.
Taylor is currently adapting an Election sequel with Alexander Payne for Paramount. The project is based on Tom Perrotta's 2022 novel Tracy Flick Can't Win, with Hello Sunshine and Bona Fide producing.
Taylor and Payne's partnership stretches back to the indie satire Citizen Ruth, starring Laura Dern. They followed it with the 1999 Tom Perrotta adaptation Election, starring Matthew Broderick and Reese Witherspoon, which earned the pair an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
An Oscar-winning writing partnership
The two won the Academy Award and a BAFTA for Best Adapted Screenplay for Sideways, based on Rex Pickett's 2004 novel and starring Paul Giamatti, Thomas Haden Church, Virginia Madsen and Sandra Oh. They also won the Golden Globe for Best Screenplay for About Schmidt, starring Jack Nicholson and Kathy Bates.
Taylor was a producer on Payne's 2011 film The Descendants, starring George Clooney, which was nominated for five Oscars and won two Golden Globes. Separately, Taylor and his wife, Tamara Jenkins, adapted the Nick Hornby novel Juliet, Naked into the 2018 film starring Rose Byrne and Ethan Hawke.
