Jimmy Kimmel paid tribute on Friday to Rodney Muñoz, the longtime costume designer on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live!, who died on October 2 at age 60, Deadline reported.

Kimmel remembered Muñoz in an Instagram post, honoring a collaborator who had worked as the show's costume designer since 2002.

Muñoz won a Primetime Emmy in 2010 for Outstanding Costumes for a Variety/Music Program or a Special.

A career across talk shows and beyond

His friend Joe Dietl announced his death last weekend, noting Muñoz suffered many health issues after a COVID diagnosis that required a coma and ventilator.

Before joining Kimmel, Muñoz worked as costume designer on The Late Show with David Letterman from 1995 to 2000 and in wardrobe on NBC's Fear Factor in 2002. Following his work with Kimmel on Comedy Central's The Man Show, Muñoz became costume designer for Jimmy Kimmel Live! when it launched in 2003.

He also worked on the indie series Where the Bears Are from 2012 to 2018 and designed costumes for the off-Broadway stage shows I Sent a Letter to My Love (1995), The Preservation Society (1996) and Ancient History/English Made Simple (1996).
