Jon Hamm Open to Marvel Role After Mister Sinister Missed

Jon Hamm said he would welcome a call from Marvel about playing another character after missing out on the role of Mister Sinister. The actor made the comment in an interview, according to comingsoon.net.

Marvel has cast Adam Driver as Mister Sinister in its upcoming untitled X-Men film. Driver's version of the villain will reportedly operate under the name Nathaniel Millbury.

The film's announced cast includes Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Inde Navarette as Rogue, Maya Boyd as Storm, Kit Connor as Cyclops, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, and Asa Germann as Angel.

20th Century Fox had intended to tease Hamm's take on Mister Sinister in a post-credits scene for The New Mutants, but Disney's takeover of Fox derailed those plans. In X-Men: Apocalypse, unidentified figures collect Wolverine's blood from the remains of the Weapon X facility and place the samples inside a container bearing the Essex Corp. name.

Logan later expanded that thread indirectly through Transigen, an Essex subsidiary responsible for using genetic samples to create Laura Kinney, or X-23.
