Kane Parsons, director of the A24 film Backrooms, spoke at the Zurich Film Festival Summit on Saturday, where he discussed the film's theatrical performance and its origins. Backrooms, which stars Renate Reinsve and Chiwetel Ejiofor, was released in May and has grossed $401 million worldwide. The film adapts Parsons' viral YouTube series, which he launched as a teenager.
