Kino Lorber Sets Six-Disc Sergio Leone 4K Collection

The set gathers A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West on 4K UHD.

Kino Lorber has announced a six-disc 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray collection titled Sergio Leone: Masterworks, according to movieweb.com. The set brings together A Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon a Time in the West.

Each film gets its own UHD disc with a 4K transfer presented in HDR10 and Dolby Vision. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is spread across separate discs for its 161-minute theatrical cut and its 179-minute extended cut.

A sixth bonus disc collects retrospective documentaries, location comparisons, rare outtakes and archival interviews, including one with Clint Eastwood. Audio commentaries come from film historian Christopher Frayling and critic Tim Lucas.

The four titles date from Leone's 1960s run: A Fistful of Dollars, Eastwood's first leading role and his first collaboration with the director, was released in 1964. For a Few Dollars More followed in 1965 and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly in 1966, forming the Dollars Trilogy, while Once Upon a Time in the West was released in 1968.
