Laika to Receive Gotham Anniversary Tribute as Wildwood Hits Theaters

Laika will receive the Gotham Anniversary Tribute at this year's Gotham Film Awards, the Gotham Film & Media Institute announced. The honor recognizes the studio's 20 years of storytelling and coincides with the release of its latest stop-motion feature, Wildwood.
Founded in 2005, Laika has earned six Oscar nominations for its stop-motion films. Wildwood arrives in theaters on October 23 via Fathom Entertainment, following its world premiere at the London Film Festival on October 11 and an opening-night slot at AFI Fest.
Travis Knight directs Wildwood from a screenplay by Chris Butler, based on Colin Meloy's novel. The voice cast includes Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Angela Bassett, Awkwafina, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Amandla Stenberg, Jemaine Clement, Maya Erskine, Tantoo Cardinal, Tom Waits and Richard E. Grant.
