Lee Je-nu joins tvN's Korean remake of Unnatural
Lee Je-nu will play the veteran forensic pathologist Ku Seung-hyeok, nicknamed "grim reaper Seung-hyeok," opposite Im Yoon-ah's Song Da-eun.
Lee Je-nu has been cast as forensic pathologist Ku Seung-hyeok in the Korean remake of Unnatural, the tvN drama currently carrying a working title, according to cinemacafe.net.
Ku Seung-hyeok is nicknamed the "grim reaper Seung-hyeok" because he cares only about the dead and shows no interest in the living. He is described as having performed around 3,000 autopsies.
The drama is set at the fictional U.D.I, an autopsy and appraisal institution attached to the National Forensic Service. Im Yoon-ah plays the lead forensic pathologist Song Da-eun, a role previously confirmed.
The production team said Lee Je-nu's restrained emotional acting suits the character of Ku Seung-hyeok.
The original Unnatural, starring Satomi Ishihara and Arata Iura, aired on TBS in 2018 and is regarded in Korea as a landmark series.
