Luke Grimes said he doubts Kevin Costner will return to the Yellowstone franchise, telling USA Today there have been no conversations about it, according to movieweb.com.
Grimes, who played Kayce Dutton on the series, addressed the possibility of a Costner comeback in the interview. He said he does not expect it to happen and that no talks have taken place.
Costner played John Dutton III, the owner and operator of the Dutton Ranch. He exited Yellowstone in the middle of Season 5, a departure announced before the season had premiered, and his character was killed off in Season 5.
Taylor Sheridan expressed disappointment with Costner's exit in a 2023 interview with The Pioneer Woman. Costner said in a Deadline interview that he had originally signed a contract covering Seasons 5, 6 and 7, later reworked into Season 5A and 5B.
