Luxbox, Amore Cine Board Melina León's 'Portrait Huaco'
The French and Spanish companies join as co-producers on the Peruvian drama, which will take part in Ventana Sur's Proyecta forum.
Luxbox and Amore Cine have boarded Melina León's Peruvian drama 'Portrait Huaco,' according to Variety. Luxbox joins as international sales agent and co-producer, while Amore Cine comes on as co-producer.
The project is based on the autobiographical novel by Peruvian author Gabriela Wiener. It is participating in the 8th Proyecta Co-Production Forum at Ventana Sur, the film market and co-production forum held in Montevideo, Uruguay, which runs this year from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4.
Amore Cine and Luxbox join Peru's Mano de Obra Cine and La Vida Misma Films as producing partners on the film.
León's debut feature, 'Song Without a Name,' world premiered at the Cannes Directors' Fortnight in 2019. 'Ofelia,' a late coming-of-age drama, is currently in post-production.
