Maika Monroe Would "Love" to Return for the Longlegs Sequel

The actress says she is open to playing FBI agent Lee Harker again, adding that the team is "doing something" on the follow-up.

Maika Monroe said she would "love, love, love" to play FBI agent Lee Harker again in the sequel to Longlegs, in an interview reported by Bloody Disgusting. The follow-up from director Osgood Perkins and actor Nicolas Cage was already confirmed earlier in 2026.

Monroe said Perkins and Cage are "doing something" on the sequel, and that "we'll see what happens." She described the chance to play Lee again as something she would welcome and called working with Perkins and Cage an absolute dream.

Longlegs was released in 2024, with Monroe as the FBI agent hunting the title killer played by Cage. Earlier in 2026, it was confirmed that Perkins and Cage were developing a sequel.

Monroe also stars in Victorian Psycho, which opens in theaters on November 13. Jason Isaacs, who appears alongside her in that film, joked during the interview that Monroe said a lot of words but revealed nothing.

Another sequel on the way

The sequel to It Follows, titled They Follow, wrapped filming earlier in 2026. It Follows and The Guest were released within a year of each other and earned critical acclaim and passionate followings.
