The poster for the original Human Torch follows Episode 7, titled "Immolation," which tells Hammond's full origin story on Disney+.
Marvel Studios has released its first poster for Jim Hammond, the original Human Torch, after VisionQuest Episode 7 aired on Disney+. According to comingsoon.net, the poster shows Hammond's silhouette engulfed in flames on a dark city street, with embers rising into the night sky.
The caption reads, "I stood in the fire of myself, and I let it consume me" — a line Hammond delivers to Vision in the episode.
Episode 7, titled "Immolation," tells Hammond's full origin story. In the series, he is revealed as the foundation for every sentient AI in the MCU, including JARVIS, and he gives Vision the missing code needed to save Lisa Molinari.
Hammond was created by Carl Burgos for Marvel Comics #1 in 1939 under the Timely Comics banner, debuting alongside Namor the Sub-Mariner. In the comics, scientist Phineas T. Horton built him as a synthetic man whose body burst into flames on contact with oxygen.
The VisionQuest finale, titled "Forever," arrives on Disney+ on November 10, 2026.
