Mike Flanagan Confirms Dark Tower Easter Eggs in Prime Video's Carrie
The creator said signage at Ralph White's workplace points to LaMerk Industries, a corporation tied to the Crimson King in The Dark Tower.
Mike Flanagan has confirmed that his Carrie series for Prime Video carries connections to The Dark Tower, according to screenrant.com. The creator said Dark Tower fans will notice the signage at the workplace of Ralph White, Carrie White's father.
The signage refers to LaMerk Industries, a corporation tied to the Crimson King in The Dark Tower. Flanagan said the references in the first season were kept in the background rather than placed at the centre of the story.
The first season, set in the present, folds social media into the bullying storyline. It ends with Carrie surviving and leaving town with Emaline West.
Flanagan, who is set to create a Dark Tower series for Prime Video, said he would also like to adapt Stephen King's Hearts in Atlantis, which connects to The Dark Tower through the story Low Men in Yellow Coats.
King adaptations behind and ahead
Stephen King published Carrie in 1974 and began The Dark Tower series in 1982, writing seven more books plus a novella in it. Flanagan has previously adapted King works including Gerald's Game, Doctor Sleep and The Life of Chuck. Prime Video renewed Carrie days before the report, and Flanagan has a three-season plan for the show.
