Mike Flanagan's Carrie has set a new audience record for the franchise on Rotten Tomatoes, earning an 86% audience score from more than 100 ratings.

That figure surpasses every previous adaptation of Stephen King's 1974 novel. Brian De Palma's 1976 film holds a 77% audience score, the 2002 television movie 49%, and the 2013 remake 44%, according to screenrant.com.

The result also places Carrie as Flanagan's second-highest-rated series in audience score. The Haunting of Hill House (2018) remains first at 91%, ahead of The Fall of the House of Usher (2023) at 81%, Midnight Mass (2021) at 79%, The Haunting of Bly Manor (2020) at 69%, and The Midnight Club (2022) at 55%.

The series premiered on Prime Video on October 7. It stars Summer H. Howell and Samantha Sloyan.
