Indian actor Nana Patekar died on Oct. 8 at his residence in Goa at the age of 75, according to Variety. He went into cardiac arrest at home and was declared dead at 5:20 am local time.

Patekar made his film debut in 'Gaman' in 1978. His breakthrough came with 'Parinda' in 1989, which brought him an Indian National Film Award for best supporting actor and the Filmfare award in the same category.
'Krantiveer' in 1994 won him the Indian National Film Award for best actor along with Filmfare and Screen awards. In 2013 he received the Padma Shri, India's fourth-highest civilian honor.
He was commissioned into the Territorial Army in 1988 with the rank of captain, and in 2015 launched the Naam Foundation alongside Makarand Anaspure to support Maharashtra farmers hit by drought.
Actor Tanushree Dutta accused him in 2008 of harassing her on the set of 'Horn 'Ok' Pleassss,' and she repeated the allegation in 2018. Mumbai police registered a case against Patekar and three others in October 2018 but filed a closure report in June 2019.
