The documentary NAZA had its North American premiere at the New York Film Festival, with co-directors Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor participating in a Q&A with festival director Dennis Lim after the screening.
The film, shot at night on rooftops in Tel Aviv, previously premiered at the Venice Film Festival, where it won a special jury prize and received a 24.5-minute standing ovation.
Outside the New York screening, the Israeli-American Council organized a protest of more than 50 people. The demonstration included LED trucks projecting footage from October 7 and portraits of those killed that day.
Following the film's Venice debut, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for a law to revoke citizenship of anyone who slanders IDF soldiers. Israel's Minister of Culture threatened to revoke the filmmakers' Israeli citizenship.
