Netflix Q3 revenue hits $12.9 billion, ad tier headed to 15 new markets

Netflix said it will expand its ad-supported tier to 15 new countries in 2027, as quarterly revenue rose 12 percent year over year.

Netflix reported $12.9 billion in revenue for the third quarter of 2026, a 12 percent increase year over year, in its earnings report published on Tuesday, October 20th, 2026, according to The Verge.

The company listed improved monetization as one of its main priorities going forward, alongside boosting entertainment value and using new technology. Netflix said those goals would help it build member value that lets it occasionally raise prices and lift advertiser demand.

Netflix also said it plans to push further into original titles, live events and third-party programming, and will bring its ad-supported tier to 15 new countries in 2027. It pointed to its upcoming NFL games, a Grand Theft Auto VI preview and its partnership with French TV station TF1 as evidence of a broader content slate.

On the earnings call, co-CEO Ted Sarandos said titles from Latin America, EMEA and Asia-Pacific are driving engagement, subscriber growth, revenue and profit, while the US business is working but not growing as fast as the company would like.

Executive changes and viewing pressure

In July 2026, Netflix accounted for 7.8 percent of US viewing time, one percentage point lower than a year earlier, and an analysis from Jefferies estimated monthly viewing time per member fell to 49 hours in the first half of 2026 from 66 hours in the first half of 2023. Last week the company laid off around 1,000 employees and replaced key executives, including chief content officer Bela Bajaria and film head Dan Lin; former Disney executive Peter Rice takes over as chief content officer on October 26th.
