Neuromancer Apple TV Series Sets January 22, 2027 Premiere
Apple TV has confirmed a January 22, 2027 launch for its 10-part adaptation of William Gibson's Neuromancer, with a trailer already out.
Apple TV has confirmed that its adaptation of William Gibson's Neuromancer will premiere on January 22, 2027. A trailer for the series has already been released, according to screenrant.com.
The show is a 10-part series based on Gibson's novel. The premiere date and first trailer now place the project on Apple TV's schedule after years in which the book was widely considered unfilmable.
From unfilmable novel to streaming series
Multiple adaptation attempts stalled over the years. A planned Neuromancer film involving director Vincenzo Natali never moved past early production stages.
Gibson's novel was published two years after Ridley Scott's Blade Runner arrived in the early 1980s. Gibson and Scott later met and discovered that both had been inspired by the French comic magazine Métal Hurlant and its English-translated counterpart, Heavy Metal.
The new series arrives as another cyberpunk franchise continues on streaming: Blade Runner 2099, a Prime Video series extending the Blade Runner franchise, is set to arrive in 2026.
