Nicolas Cage says Face/Off role took a lot out of him

At New York City Comic Con, Nicolas Cage described the strain of playing Castor Troy and how he lost himself in the character.

Nicolas Cage said his role in Face/Off took a lot out of him and that he at one point got lost in the character, speaking during a panel at New York City Comic Con, according to joblo.com.

Cage described the performance as playing Archer playing Troy while everyone believes he is Castor Troy. The film, directed by John Woo, has Cage and John Travolta trading identities as Castor Troy and Sean Archer.

A sequel to Face/Off remains in development at Paramount. Adam Wingard has exited the project, and neither Cage nor Travolta has signed on, with no deals in place.

Cage starred in The Rock, Con Air and Face/Off in the 1990s. In a 2024 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Wingard said the sequel script was "really fucking awesome" and a true sequel.
