The Only Living Pickpocket in New York widens release October 30

Noah Segan's film stars John Turturro as an aging pickpocket in New York; it was developed at Rian Johnson's T-Street Productions.

The Only Living Pickpocket in New York expands its theatrical release on October 30, 2026, according to hollywoodreporter.com. Noah Segan wrote and directed the film, which stars John Turturro as pickpocket Harry Lehman.

The film is set and shot in modern-day New York City. Turturro's character plies a trade that has become obsolete in the digital age, and he cares for his incapacitated wife.

Rian Johnson and Ram Bergman developed the project under their T-Street Productions banner. Segan and his team widened the casting search for the lead role from actors in their 80s to actors 65 and older, and the part is Turturro's first big-screen starring role in more than 20 years.

Segan's ties to Johnson go back years. In 2018, while making the first Knives Out movie, he showed Johnson the Pickpocket script; the two first met in 2003 after Segan was cast in Johnson's directorial debut Brick, and Segan later had a supporting role in Johnson's 2012 film Looper. In 2017, after the birth of his first child, Segan wrote Pickpocket and the horror-comedy Blood Relatives within about six months.
