Other Desert Cities Opens Strong With $1.88M Week

Billy Crystal's solo show 860 took $854,574 over five previews at the Imperial, filling 83% of seats.

Other Desert Cities grossed $1,879,441 in its first week of previews, according to Deadline, ranking second on the week's Broadway grosses chart for the week ending October 4, 2026. All seven of its performances at the Hudson were sold out.

The production posted the week's highest average ticket price at $275.66, ahead of the rest of the field. It finished behind only Hamilton, which took $2,704,838.

Billy Crystal's solo show 860 also began previews, taking $854,574 across five performances at the Imperial and filling 83% of seats. The Imaginary Invalid grossed $352,824 over seven previews at the Haimes.

Across the industry, the 28 Broadway productions grossed $27,735,569 for the week ending October 4. Season-to-date, Broadway has grossed $593,216,158 in the 19th week of the 2026-27 season.

Elsewhere on the chart

Hamilton's $2,704,838 for the week was boosted by Christopher Jackson's return to the cast. Oh, Mary! dropped $241,332 to $1,216,930, while The Lion King fell $202,402 to $1,498,471 after a cancelled Saturday matinee.

Chicago grossed $1,030,366 at 98% capacity with Reece Weaver as Roxie, and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child took $1,671,543 at 96% capacity with Tom Felton as Draco. Six and Stranger Things: The First Shadow were each about 68% of capacity, with grosses of $562,105 and $571,076, and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York) stood at 65% and $503,692. Closing dates are November 29 for Two Strangers and January 3, 2027, for Six and Stranger Things.
