The film is directed by Andy Serkis, who also reprises the role of Gollum. Ian McKellen, Elijah Wood and Lee Pace return to their roles, while Anya Taylor-Joy, Leo Woodall, Jamie Dornan and Kate Winslet join the cast. Warner Bros. releases the film on December 17, 2027.
