Poison Ivy series reportedly in early development at HBO

Lauren LeFranc, showrunner of The Penguin, is in talks to produce the project, which has no writers attached yet.

A Poison Ivy series is reportedly in early development at HBO, according to Polygon. Lauren LeFranc, the showrunner and executive producer of The Penguin, is in talks to produce the project.

No writers are attached to the series yet, and LeFranc would serve only as a producer rather than as showrunner.

The project was reportedly paused for a time because of the merger between Paramount and Warner Bros. It is not yet known whether the Poison Ivy show would connect to the larger DCU or sit in a separate universe.

Poison Ivy, also known as Dr. Pamela Isley, has appeared on screen before. In 1997, Uma Thurman played the character in Batman & Robin, and in the animated sitcom Harley Quinn, Lake Bell voiced her.

Separately, The Batman Part 2 paused filming while director Matt Reeves stepped away for a personal matter, and Steven Soderbergh will now help finish the sequel, due in theaters on Feb. 18, 2028.
