Robert Schwartzman's supernatural horror thriller Portrait has wrapped production, with Upgrade boarding international sales and set to present the film to buyers at the upcoming American Film Market alongside domestic sales group After Hours, according to deadline.com.
Finn Wittrock and Supriya Ganesh lead the cast as Mark and his pregnant wife Leah, who move to a small-town farmhouse and discover an antique portrait of a mysterious pioneer woman. Whitmer Thomas, Este Haim and Andrew Divoff also star.
Portrait was written by Zac Stanford from a story by Schwartzman and Stanford. Schwartzman, Dani Koenigsberg and T. Justin Ross produced for Beachwood Park Films, with Greg Lauritano, Maggie Kaufman Coffey and Marissa Paiva serving as executive producers.
Christine D'Souza, Julia Nelson and Peter Van Steemburg will handle North American sales for After Hours.
Story first drafted in 2018
Schwartzman and Stanford wrote the story for Portrait back in 2018, inspired by their love of buying antiques. Schwartzman's directing credits include The Good Half, Hung Up On A Dream, The Unicorn, Dreamland and The Argument, which Stanford also wrote; he was also a producer on The Last Showgirl.
