Potential Films has acquired worldwide rights to the restored 1976 Australian drama Caddie, according to Variety. The deal was struck ahead of the film's premiere at the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon.
The 4K restoration was completed by the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia from a scan of the 35mm original picture negative. It marks the film's 50th anniversary.

Donald Crombie directed Caddie, which was originally released in 1976 and was the first film produced by Anthony Buckley. It broke domestic box office records on its original release, and Helen Morse won the Australian Film Institute's best actress award for her role in the film. Caddie also received a Special Jury Prize at San Sebastián, where Morse took best actress. The 4K restoration was overseen by original cinematographer Peter James.
