Prime Video has ordered the drama series Rally, set in the world of competitive tennis, according to Deadline. The series comes from writer, showrunner and executive producer Julie Plec for Universal Television, Entertainment 360 and Amazon MGM Studios.
Andre Agassi, an eight-time Grand Slam singles champion, executive produces Rally — his first producing role. Guymon Casady of Entertainment 360 also executive produces; his experience in elite tennis academy culture inspired the series, the report said. Justin Gimelstob, a former tennis pro and Agassi's business partner, and Emily Cummins, an executive producer for Plec's My So Called Company, are among the executive producers.
Rally was originally set up at Universal Television a year ago under Plec's overall deal there. It is Plec's second series at Prime Video, alongside We Were Liars, which is returning for a second season.
A premiere date and cast for Rally have not been announced.
