Pungky Studio appeals ruling in Yoo Jun-won damages suit
The producers say the roughly 685 million won awarded by the Seoul Central District Court falls far short of their 3 billion won claim.
Pungky Studio and related investors filed an appeal on October 23 against the first-instance ruling in their damages suit against singer Yoo Jun-won, according to joynews24.com. The plaintiffs said they appealed because they are dissatisfied with the amount awarded.
The Seoul Central District Court had ordered Yoo Jun-won to pay Pungky Studio about 685 million won plus late interest in a partial ruling on October 8, 2026. The plaintiffs said that sum falls far short of the 3 billion won they had claimed, citing production costs that ran to tens of billions of won.
The plaintiffs added that they are also considering joint liability litigation against the new management company that signed Yoo Jun-won. They said they will pursue compulsory execution against his deposits and his broadcast and music settlement receivables.
The dispute centres on the audition program Boy Fantasy. Yoo Jun-won recently announced he would resume activities with a new management company as part of the five-member group X_ON.
