Justin Rhodes is writing the screenplay for Paramount's adaptation of Pierce Brown's novel, with Lawrence attached to direct.

Francis Lawrence is attached to direct Paramount's film adaptation of Red Rising, with Justin Rhodes writing the screenplay, according to The Hollywood Reporter, which reported the plans on October 16.

The project is based on Pierce Brown's novel of the same name, whose protagonist is Darrow. No release date or cast has been announced.

Paramount is developing the title as a feature film. Before that move, Red Rising had spent years set up as a television adaptation, per the report.
