Renfield opened in theaters on April 7, 2023, on an estimated budget of $65 million, and grossed just $26 million at the box office. It holds a 58% critics score and a 78% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The Last Voyage of the Demeter, another Dracula-related film, was also released in 2023 and struggled both commercially and critically. Cage went on to appear in Longlegs in 2024, after earlier roles in Mandy (2018), Color Out of Space (2019) and Willy's Wonderland (2021).
